Drawpologies

What did you do?

We played drawpologies.  We made friends!  We laughed.  We cheered.  We shrugged.  We did all of this with hundreds of people as well.  It was good times!

What's "Drawpologies?"

It's like telephone-pictionary.  The rules are simple.  A person draws a picture.  The next person writes a short (paragraph at most) story about the picture.  Then they hide the picture.  The third person draws a picture based upon the story, with no knowledge of the prior picture.  They then hide the story, and the game goes on like this, with the original message melting into oblivion over time.  Good fun.

Normally this is done on a sheet of paper, and the paper is folded over itself.  Because of the larger scale, this version of the game was played on an easel with a cover, and a roller.  This allowed for a lot more players before stopping the game!

The setup is below:

Far too many words in the rules - will reduce for next year.
The rules were on the front so we didn't always have to be in camp to explain it.

Sadly, it was as if nobody even saw the arrows :(
PVC pipe with some printed knobs.

It stood up to both the wind AND drunk people!
Case kicked us off once we got it bolted (yes, lag bolted) down to survive the wind.

Why did you do this?

Because it's fun!  We've played this game in a small setting a few times, but usually people are on the same wavelength or have a few inside jokes that get worked in.  I was eager to see how it would work out in a larger pool of people over a longer time period.  Saguaro man was a great setting for such a thing.

Okay, but why is it called "Drawpologies?"

Because whenever we play it we end up apologizing profusely for our drawings or our interpretations of others' drawings.  The name sort of stuck,   There is a different name for it as well, but it escapes me right now.

How did this all play out?

Hilariously.  And also deeply.  I'm still confused.  Below are three days worth of Drawpologies.  Some folks didn't quite get the rules down.  Some were a bit inebriated.  Some just wanted to do their own thing.  But it all worked out in the end.  I think.  Eh, you be the judge.

WARNING:  POTENTIALLY RIDICULOUS, IMMATURE, AND VULGAR CONTENT AHEAD.

If you are okay with that, please enjoy!
